Murphy’s Irish Stout

Written by

When I go into a Starbucks, I am the kind of guy that specifically asks the Barista for whole milk instead of skim. I care much less about the caloric value of my creamy drink, and much more about the rich and frothy taste. So when I cracked open my Murphy’s Stout and tried a sip, I couldn’t believe how much it tasted like a delicious mocha with whole milk.

I tried it with a buddy while watching the Broncos get smoked by the Colts. While the game was disappointing, the beer was not. We were both amazed by how smooth this brew is and how creamy of a taste it carries. Honestly, I couldn’t believe how smooth the finish of this dark beer was. It also helps that it comes in can with a widget that aerates the beer as you pour it making it feel like it was poured draft from a jolly chap in an Irish pub.

One thing that I did not like about this beer was its almost watery finish. But overall, I can’t complain a bit. I loved it. So here’s my recommendation, next time your wife tells you she’d like to stop by Starbucks for a quick drink, tell her that you have something else in mind. Take her on a trip down comfort lane and dive into the hearty goodness of this stout. You both won’t be disappointed.

  1. I like the Irish. I like my lattes. Murphy’s stout sounds scrumptious and it sounds like I can drink instead of my coffee. Does that mean before noon?
