Pepe Nero! The name and presentation are the best parts of this beer. I was all excited by the packaging but disappointed with the results. The color was nice and black in keeping with the “mystery” of the bottle. It poured a little brown head that lasted a fair amount of time. The aroma was florals, fruity, nutty and a hard to describe smell. The taste was much like the aroma. I had to imagine hard in order to get to the pepper. I stepped away from the beer to talk on the phone before I finished the glass and came back to a rather flat, strange beer that reminded me of Dr. Pepper! Mouthfeel is thin and nothing to remember. Try this once just to say you did but that will be enough.

  1. I have one of these in my fridge. Looking forward to giving it a try. It was recommended to me that I enjoy this beer with food so I might make a spicy dish or something peppery.
